KritFit uses the Mifflin-St Jeor formula — the most widely validated BMR method in clinical nutrition research — to calculate your specific Basal Metabolic Rate and Total Daily Energy Expenditure. KritFit was built by Christopher Robin — a retired US Navy veteran, self-taught developer, and committed athlete who refuses to let age or circumstance define what is possible.
Christopher served 5½ years in the US Navy, stationed aboard the USS Oriskany, USS Roosevelt, USS Albany and USS Puget Sound. Military service came with a long-term cost to his health — conditions that would sideline most people. His response was to fight back with structure: running, weightlifting, cycling, and a disciplined approach to nutrition that became the philosophical foundation of KritFit.
After decades living in London, Dubai and Qatar, Christopher returned to Portland, Oregon three years ago. At 70, he runs, lifts weights, rides a Harley, and mountain bikes up to 60 miles on a Specialized Ground Control. He built KritFit because the apps that existed were either too generic, too expensive, or too locked behind subscriptions to be genuinely useful.
